2. Engagement & Scope

Services are provided only upon written engagement. The scope of services shall be defined in our engagement letter. LeaveLaw is not liable for matters outside the agreed scope unless expressly modified in writing.

We provide services in accordance with German legal practice standards (Berufsordnung für Rechtsanwälte – BRAO) and applicable data protection laws including GDPR.

4. Fees & Payment

Fees are charged based on the engagement letter (hourly rates, fixed fees, or contingent arrangements as agreed). Invoices are due within 14 days of issue. Late payments incur interest at 5% per annum above the applicable base rate.

5. Confidentiality & Attorney-Client Privilege

All communications between client and LeaveLaw are strictly confidential and protected by attorney-client privilege under German law (Anwaltliche Schweigepflicht). We will not disclose information without your explicit written consent, except where required by law.

6. Limitation of Liability

LeaveLaw's liability is limited to direct damages caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct. Liability for indirect, consequential, or lost profit damages is excluded. Claims must be made within 12 months of the event giving rise to liability.

7. Data Protection (GDPR)

We process personal data in accordance with GDPR. Your data is used solely for service delivery and legal compliance. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling, rights, and contact information.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate the engagement with 14 days' written notice. Upon termination, outstanding fees remain due. We may retain documents as required by German law (Aufbewahrungspflicht – minimum 6 years).

9. Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by German law (substantive law of Germany). Disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

10. General Provisions
